Research and Education
The role of the Research and Education element of the TSN is to identify skills needs and matching supply in education and training provision. This involves producing and maintaining the Regional Workforce Development Plan through research and with input from each DMO skills Coordinator.
The role also involves identifying best practice skills development activity and seeking to adapt and utilise the activity for the benefit of the industry in the South West region.
To maintain links with the training providers, the role also links with and seeks to support the CoVE network and is a member of the Aim Higher group working with higher education. To support the aim of raising perceptions of the industry as an employer, the role supports career ambassadors across the region through the DMO skill coordinators, by funding ambassador skills development and the development of tools used when talking to people about working in the industry.
